Otherwise known as Swamp Milkweed, Asclepias is a favourite for attracting pollinators to the garden they are also the food of choice for monarch caterpillars. Deadhead the blooms for a new flush of flowers in the summer. The pink or white flowers offer a sweet vanilla scent and can be used as cut flowers.
